Doctors have not yet diagnosed....?
Hi,
I have recently had, the only way I can put it, spontaneous uterine contractions that don't let up for a half hour. The next day I am sore and then they go away dissappearing for six months or so. I also have a pain near my belly button and to the right that stays and is very sensitive to pressure. The doctors can't figure it out, but have ruled out pregnancy as well as out of the uterus and kidney stones. This is different from the odd everyday/ monthly pains that a woman would get but with ultrasounds, scans, examinations etc.... everything looks normal. Would you press the issue for more tests or exploratory surgery or just wait and see what happens? I ask because I really don't know what to do and it's obviously at this point not life threatening, but the pain persists and comes from somewhere? How would you approach this? I am in the Netherlands where they are a bit less aggressive than the US and the UK. Thanks for your ideas!
Scar tissue build up (an example only) could be causing this pain. Because the pain persists I would continue to keep getting more testing. I would recommend consulting a gastroenterologist (a doctor that diagnoses and treats diseases and disorders that relate to the bowel) as well if you haven't already to see what they think could be going on.
The reason for mentioning a gastroenterologist is because some conditions when it causes pain can cause pain to radiate to the uterus.
Also, a consultation with a bladder specialist might be another option to see if something with your bladder could be causing the pain in your uterus (because of the pain radiating to the uterus).
