Hey, try to find out from your urologist what kind of kidney stone you had! according to that you will know what kind of food you should cut down from your diet, but you can still eat them but just not too often.
If they say it was a mix stone then you just need to add more fluids to your diet, don't over do the water because then you can get deficiency of kalium/potassium which can cause arrhythmia(irregular heart beat) can cause death too, usually girls on waterfall diet experience this.
What you should avoid overuse of is dairy products, milk. Because you are a growing kid, you are 17 years old right? that's why they rather told you to avoid stuff like chocolate ...... to avoid because it has OXALATE in it , most frequent kidney stones happening are Calcium oxalate(if you will not have oxalate then very less probability to form calcium stone) because they can occur once you had stones even it was due to different reasons(metabolic disorders).
You can eat any kind of bread as long as you don't experience constipation, that also contribute to it because calcium is in bread also.
you can eat everything, just avoid those items which are mentioned by doctors and on this website:
www.webmd.com/kidneystones/understanding-kidney-stones-prevention
you can eat these things which are asked to avoid if you do it like couple of times a month then they are not harm full as long as you don't use all of then at the same time frame.
