A friend of mine recently got a sore throat which turned out ot be pharyngitis. Her doctor precribed amoxicillin for her.

Now I am feeling the same sypmtoms she felt in the early stages of it. I had been covered under my dad's health insurance but was dropped from coverage after the first of the year (b/c i'm too old to be on his plan anymore) so I no longer have health insurance which means I cannot go to the doctor. I have a bottle of ciprofloxacin that I was prescribed in November when I had a kidney stone in case I got an infection but I never did so I never used it.

I want to know if I can take cipro for pharyngitis/strep throat. I know I need to see a doctor so please don't lecture me on that. I can't afford to go to the ER over this and I have a 4 month old baby that absolutely cannot catch this from me and I need to know if I can take these antibiotics for this illness or not so that I lessen my chances of passing it to my son.
