Bladder infection.. I have been dealing with a bladder infection (I have all the symtoms)?

A few months ago I also had an infected tooth that I took care of with about a week of amoxicillin 500 mg twice daily. Should this have also worked on my bladder infection also or does the medication only work on on thing at a time? I had some serious pain like a kidney stone movement for 2 days and went away. I know I have a bladder problem because I ca also feel the pressure, besides all the other urinary symptoms, so what should I expect from taking more amoxicillin. I am also drinking lots of 100% cranberry juice. I am a 67 year old male. When I went to the doctor my urine test was negative, but I know different and I know there is a problem there.

Amoxicillin may not be the answer to your problem, if there is a bacterial problem that has a resistance to it. What has your doctor said about additional testing to pinpoint an answer for you? Due to your age and sex, perhaps some further prostate testing would be in order - so have you asked about having that done? There are different causes for pain the the area of the bladder, so make sure you communicate with the doctor the fact that there's still a problem there and you want to keep looking for an answer as to the cause, and being treated when the cause is found. Good Luck, feel better soon.
